Welcome to MVARA

The Mahoning Valley Amateur Radio Association is a dynamic group of Ham Radio enthusiasts.  We support the high profile 146.745 Repeater, publish the award winning Voice Coil newsletter, consistently score in the top ten percent of all entries on Field Day, and provide an array of services to the community.  Our license classes and experienced mentors can help you get your ticket, set up a station, and get on the air.  Founded in 1919, the MVARA is one of the oldest Amateur Radio organizations in the world.  We are an ARRL affiliated club, as well as an ARRL Special Services Club.  We meet the second Thursday of each month at 7:00pm.  Anyone interested in Amateur Radio is welcome to attend our meetings and join in on the fun.

Field Day 2024 is June 22, 2024:

Field Day is ham radio's open house. Every June, more than 40,000 hams throughout North America set up temporary transmitting stations in public places to demonstrate ham radio's science, skill and service to our communities and our nation. It combines public service, emergency preparedness, community outreach, and technical skills all in a single event. Field Day has been an annual event since 1933, and remains the most popular event in ham radio.
